Our CEO Conor McCoole's letter to the Financial Times was published on January 2, 2025, responding to the Lex column of December 18. The letter argues that investors seeking exposure to the energy transition should focus on renewable energy funds that invest directly in projects using proven technologies, where 10-12% net returns are achievable, rather than legacy companies attempting to transition into new sectors.

McCoole notes that without fair financial returns, the energy transition will stall. He emphasizes that consistent carbon price signals and well-designed electricity markets that encourage investment in diverse renewable generation sources will achieve more meaningful progress than COP29 or climate tech investments.

The letter highlights SC Oscar's investment philosophy of focusing on proven renewable energy technologies and infrastructure to deliver reliable returns while contributing to the energy transition.
